Glory is Seen

The proper understanding of everything in life begins with God. No one will ever understand the necessity of conversion who does not know why God created us. He created us “in his image” so that we would image forth his glory in the world. We were made to be prisms refracting the light of God’s glory into all of life. Why God should want to give us a share in shining with his glory is a great mystery. Call it grace or mercy or love – it is an unspeakable wonder. Once we were not. I exist to shine the light of God’s glory.

Glory is seen, not heard.
On days when darkness wins in me, it is not because darkness beat out the light.

Dark has no competition with light. There is not a battle to see which is the strongest. Even the tiniest sliver of light erodes darkness. When there is light and darkness in the same place, the light is always seen and the dark always fades.

On those days when darkness wins, it is because there is NO light in me. That light comes from God. I can only counter that darkness with God.

I exist to shine the light of God’s glory. And it is only with God that I can do that.

[Father, I pray that you will search my heart and remove my agenda. I pray that I am so filled with Your glory that it seeps out of my pours. I pray that You will work in me so that Your glory shines through me like a bright light in this dark world. I pray that there is no mistaking Your glory as anything I did or earned and that all praise is Yours. I lift Your name up. I thank you for loving me. I thank you that Your mercies are renewed each day. I love you. In Jesus’ name, Amen]

1 Corinthians 10:31 (KJV) …whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God!
